Storage facility is available for both long and short term period. Our facility is also equipped with fire fighting prevention equipment, round the clock security and adequate pest control measures, ensuring the safety and security of your effects.
Customs and General Information
Used household and Personal effects are not subjected to any customs duties. However, it applies only to used belongings or property of the importer meeting the following conditions :
- That the importer is the owner of the household effects;
- That they have been in his possession and used for a period of not less than three months;
- That the importer will not dispose of them within three months from the date of import;
- That the importer is changing his place of residence from a place outside the Federation to a place within the Federation.
Documents required for clearing shipment (Foreigner and Returning Malaysian)
- Passport copy
- Packing list
- Original Bill of Lading (a shipping document)
- Copy of passport page with latest entry stamped by Immigration
- Letter from sponsoring company in Malaysia confirming employment (Foreigner)
- Authorized letter
All household goods and personal effects are subject to 100% customs examination at port of entry.
Motor Vehicles
Motor vehicles/Automobiles/Motorcycles (new or used) imported are subject to import permit and duties and taxes. Vehicles should not be sent until shipper can confirm they have obtained an import license. Contact us with details of vehicles to get estimated duty payable.
Pets
Most pets can be imported and requires a Health Certificate and all necessary documents prior to animals' arrival. Quarantine period is 1 month. Contact us at least 14 days in advance in order to get kennel/quarantine space.
Electrical Appliances
Malaysia uses 220-240 volts, 50-60Hz. Square three-pin plugs and bayonet type light fittings are generally used.
Prohibited/Restricted Items
- Alcohol, cigarette and tobacco (attract high duties)
- Narcotics and firearms prohibited (death penalty)
- Pornographic materials
- Short wave radios
Diplomatic Shipments
All incoming shipment needs to be approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which may take 2 to 3 weeks. Original shipping documents are to be submitted by the shipper's Embassy with his/her Diplomatic ID CARD (issued upon arrival). |
